Dominar os tempos verbais é fundamental para uma boa comunicação. Mas, se os tempos são
mais fáceis em inglês, por que é tão difícil para os brasileiros usarem todos eles corretamente?
É simples: nosso cérebro está moldado para o português.
Então, como automatizar as estruturas gramaticais no outro idioma? Veja abaixo três dicas
para nunca mais errar:
1) Entenda que português e inglês são duas línguas diferentes. Confira algumas dessas
diferenças:
– O português tem o modo subjuntivo. Exemplo: Se eu tiver / Quando ele quiser….
– No português, temos frases com sujeito oculto, uma vez que a terminação do verbo já
sinaliza quem é o sujeito. Se construirmos frases sem sujeito em inglês, não teremos como
saber quem é responsável pela ação. Exemplos:
Publiquei um livro no ano passado. (eu) Published a book last year. (Who?)
Compramos um carro novo ontem. (nós) Bought a new car yesterday. (Who?)
– Os verbos são conjugados para todas as pessoas, fazendo alteração, mantendo-se o radical.
As frases negativas e interrogativas em inglês contêm verbos auxiliares e têm alteração na
ordem das palavras.
2) Faça vários exercícios, relacionando os advérbios mais adequados aos tempos verbais.
Escreva as frases abaixo, usando o tempo verbo correto para cada advérbio, nas formas
afirmativa, interrogativa e negativa. Depois, faça a mesma frase com He ou She:
Afirmativa
I / to study / French.

_________________________ yesterday.
_________________________ tomorrow.

3) Tenha sempre à mão esta tabela simplificada dos tempos verbais em inglês. Será mais
fácil entender as semelhanças e diferenças entre eles.
