Edição Weimar (WA)

A edição Weimar das obras de Lutero, também conhecida como Weimarer

Ausgabe (WA), é a edição crítica completa de todos os escritos de Martinho Lutero e
seus enunciados verbais, em latim e alemão. O título oficial dessa edição é D. Martin
Luthers Werke: kritische Gesammtausgabe. Também estão incluídas as “Conversas à
Mesa” de Lutero (Tischreden), Cartas (Briefe), e a sua tradução da Bíblia (Die deutsche
Bibel). As três subséries (Tischreden, Die deutsche Bibel, Briefwechsel) são numeradas
separadamente.

O trabalho editorial da WA começou em 1883 (!), por ocasião dos 400 anos do aniversário
de Lutero, sendo concluído em 2009 totalizando 112 volumes distribuídos em 127 tomos,
com aproximadamente 80.000 páginas.

WA é dividida em quatro séries:

• Abteilung 1: Schriften/Werke (Parte 1: escritos/obras), 73 volumes em 88 tomos

(abreviação: WA)
• Abteilung 2: Tischreden (Parte 2: conversas à mesa), 6 volumes
(abreviação: WA TR)
• Abteilung 3: Die deutsche Bibel (Parte 3: a Bíblia Alemã), 15 volumes
(abreviação: WA DB)
• Abteilung 4: Briefe/Briefwechsel (Parte 4: cartas/correspondências), 18 volumes
(abreviação: WA Br)

É uma “tradução padrão acadêmica” em língua inglesa, uma espécie de “tradução oficial”
para a língua inglesa.
