5.1. Diária WORKING LIFESPAN
5.1.1. Verificação do estado de conservação dos
cabos de aço, principalmente o da elevação.
5.1.2. Verificação do estado de lubrificação dos com-
ponentes móveis.
5.1.3. Assegurar-se do bom funcionamento dos
freios electromagnéticos, especialmente o do motor
da elevação, ver 7.2.
5.1.4. Observar diariamente o trabalho da grua, ano-
tando e informando qualquer anormalidade: aqueci-
mento, ruído, etc.
5.1.5. Testar o correcto funcionamento dos dispositi-
vos de segurança (limitadores de curso e de carga).
5.1.6. Inspeccionar todas as roldanas onde passam
cabos de aço, afim de verificar se eventualmente
algum cabo se libertou provocando desgastes anor-
mais, e se alguma se terá bloqueado.
5.2. Semanal
5.2.1. Verificar se todos os parafusos se mantêm
apertados, especialmente no rolamento/cremalheira,
e se todas as cavilhas têm pinos bifurcados.
5.2.2. Analisar o nível do óleo dos redutores de velo-
cidade da: elevação, rotação (orientação), carrinho
(distribuição) e translação, caso a grua esteja equi-
pada com este último mecanismo.
5.2.3. Com a corrente eléctrica desligada, verificar
visualmente o estado geral interior do armário eléc-
trico.
5.2.4. Verificar o bom estado de conservação da
ligação à terra e se existe próximo da vareta/
eléctrodo, humidade suficiente de modo a estabele-
cer-se condução eléctrica.
5.2.5. Comprovar o bom estado estrutural, com
ausência de fissuras ou deformações permanentes

It is recommended that the nominal / maximum load
be kept low, with the objective of safe working at the
end of :- 10 years’ service
5.1. Daily
5.1.1. Check the condition of the steel cables,
particularly the hoist rope.
5.1.2. Check the state of lubrication of the
moving parts.
5.1.3. Ensure that the electromagnetic brakes
are functioning properly, in particular the one on the
hoist winch. See 7.2.
5.1.4. Observe the work of the crane on a daily
basis, noting down and reporting any abnormality:
heat, noise etc.
5.1.5. Test to check the correct functioning of
the safety devices (load and travel limiters).
5.1.6. Inspect all pulleys where steel cables
pass to check whether any cable has come loose,
causing abnormal wear, and if any pulley has got
stuck.
5.2. Weekly
5.2.1. Check that all of the screws are tightly
done up, especially on the slewing ring/bearing, and
that all of the bolts have bifurcated pins.
5.2.2. Analyse the oil level in the speed reduc-
ers for: hoist, slewing (orientation), crab (distribution)
and travelling, if the crane is equipped with this last
mechanism.
5.2.3. With electrical current disconnected,
visually check the general condition of the electrics
case.
5.2.4. Check that the earth connection is in
good condition and whether sufficient humidity is pre-
sent near to the rod/electrode to establish electrical
conduction.
5.2.5. Check for structural soundness – free of
cracks or permanent deformations.

5.3. Mensal, ver 6.2.5. e 6.3.5.
5.3.1. Ainda com a corrente eléctrica desligada, veri-
ficar o aperto dos terminais na Caixa de Terminais
dos motores e freios.
5.3.2. Comparar e ajustar se necessário, as folgas
dos freios electromagnéticos, principalmente no
motor da elevação, ver 6.2.
5.3.3. Efectuar medições à tensão de alimentação
da grua e aos consumos dos motores, no arranque e
em regime de trabalho, observando se existem valo-
res anormais.
5.4. Lubrificação
Efectuar a lubrificação dos pontos assinalados no
Plano de Lubrificação, de acordo com as instruções
seguintes:
5.4.1. Lubrificação do rolamento/cremalheira.
O rolamento/cremalheira é um dos componentes
mais importantes da grua, e em matéria de lubrifica-
ção é mesmo o que necessita de maiores cuidados,
visto estar submetido a grandes esforços, pelo que
recomendamos o procedimento seguinte:
Manutenção/lubrificação nos primeiros dois meses
de utilização:
a) Lubrificar o rolamento/cremalheira semanalmente,
com a lança da grua em qualquer ponto. Iniciar em 0
graus, rodar para 90º, 270º e 360º percorrendo-se
toda a pista de rolamento, para que se efectue uma
lubrificação total. Fazer uma pequena injecção de
massa lubrificante, de modo a que se note a saída
da massa velha, pelo vedante de borracha que
envolve o rolamento/cremalheira, em cada posição
indicada.
b) A lubrificação dos dentes da cremalheira e carre-
to, deve ser feita com um pouco de massa consis-
tente sempre que aparente secura, pelo menos uma
vez por semana. Controlar a aderência de areias,
pequenas pedras, impurezas, etc., que funcionam
como abrasivos, provocando desgastes prematuros
ou anormais.
c) O controlo do aperto dos parafusos de fixação da
cremalheira, importantíssimo para a segurança da
grua deve ser efectuado às 100 primeiras horas de
funcionamento e posteriormente todas as 600 horas
ou 4 meses. Reduzir este intervalo no caso de con-
dições particularmente violentas de funcionamento.

5.3.2. Compare, and adjust if necessary, the
clearance of the electromagnetic brakes, especially

5.3.3. Measure the feed voltage of the crane
and the consumption of the motors, at start-up and in
working conditions, observing whether there are any
anomalous readings.
5.4. Lubrication
Lubricate the points indicated in the Lubrication
Plan, in accordance with the following instructions:
5.4.1. Lubrication of the slewing ring/bearing.
The slewing ring/bearing is one of the most important
components of the crane, and in terms of lubrication
it is the one that requires greatest care as it is sub-
mitted to great stress. We therefore recommend the
following procedure:
Maintenance/lubrication in the first two months
of use
a) Lubricate the slewing ring/bearing on a weekly
basis, with the crane’s jib at any point. Begin at 0
degrees, slew to 90º, 270º and 360º, covering the
whole of the bearing track in order to provide total
lubrication. Apply a small amount of lubricating
grease so that the old grease can be seen exiting
through the rubber seal that surrounds the slewing
ring/bearing, in each position indicated.
b) Lubrication of the teeth of the slewing ring and
gear must be carried out with a little heavy grease
whenever it seems dry, at least once a week. Check
for sand, small stones, impurities etc… which can
become stuck and function as abrasives, causing
premature or abnormal wear.
c) Checking the tightness of the screws that fix
the slewing ring – which are extremely important for
the safety of the crane – must be carried out after the
first 100 hours and subsequently every 600 hours or
