to practise more often to be well prepared for the tournament. Last week Jason, a friend of mine, asked me if he could join our
team. He is not what you can call a good basketball player but I told him that he could improve if he did his best during
practice. This week he played with us on Tuesday and he had a good time. The only problem was that his legs hurt the day after
the practice. I’m happy that he joined the team because he will be more active and he will improve his health. Fun and sport
combined together, what more could you ask for?

Abracadabra!
Don’t you wish you could sometimes make things disappear? Well, let me tell you that I can literally do
that. That’s right, I’m a magician! I love watching talent shows on TV. I once saw an incredible act on
one of those talent shows. There was a man who did magic tricks with cards in a way I never thought was
possible. This made me become a fan of doing magic.
At first my parents didn’t take me seriously. They thought I would get bored of magic and forget all
about it. Besides, there are not many female magicians! Then, my aunt Katie gave me a magic kit as a
birthday present. I was thrilled! She told me that it didn’t matter if I was a boy or a girl. Anyone could be
a magician.
As I got better at doing my tricks, I started participating in talent shows at school. I also performed
some of those tricks for my family at our gatherings. I can’t make a rabbit disappear, yet but I’m very
good with cards. I must practise really hard so that one day I can be on Britain’s Got Talent. I can already
imagine Simon Cowell saying “What an amazing magician!”
