• Não importa o tempo desses verbos para que sejam seguidos de gerund.
Parar para, isto é, interromper uma atividade para fazer outra – pede o
infinitivo.
After walking for two hour, we stopped to rest.
The meeting starts at eight, but at ten we will stop to
have a cup of coffe.
• Assim como o verbo to stop, o verbo to try te, dois sentidos:
Tentar fazer algo que demanda esforço – exige infinitivo.
I tried to study chapter 10, but it’s too boring.
We try to use the printer every day, but it won’t work.
I’ll never forget seeing a snake just a meter away from me.
