RESUMO
ABSTRACT
Theories of researchers of child behavior state that the phases of child cognitive
development comprise the entire process of transformation of the child, which he goes
through over time while acquiring and improving numerous skills necessary for life. This
work aimed to carry out a literary review on the stages of child development, highlighting
the theory of child development described by Lev Semenovitch Vygotsky in his works.
Child development itself is not just a consequence of internal factors such as genetics,
physical maturation, growth, as it can also be influenced by factors extrinsic to the
individual, such as, for example, physical circumstances and social interactions that provide
incentives, opportunities and passages to the future. growth. For Vygotsky, the individual's
learning should not be dissociated from its historical, social and cultural context. In order to
learn, develop knowledge and self-construct, human beings need to interact with other
members of their species, with the environment and also with culture.
