Knossos: the Throne Room. This room, at least in its present form, belongs to
L.M.II, when Knossos, unlike the other palaces, was rehabilitated under a
Mycenaean dynasty. The Mycenean presence is attested by warrior-graves of
this period, and proved by the Linear B tablets.

Minicos
Six scenes in a long narrative fresco frieze. The subject matter is intriguing. It
seems to show a formal expedition, perhaps an embassy, from Thera to some
overseas place. Minoan and Mycenaean sources have previously told us little
of Bronze Age Aegean seafaring. (Thera VI pl. 8)
The port of departure, backed by a rocky landscape with trees and wild
animals.
Minicos
Tera
State galleys setting out; grandees under the central awning, crew bending
over the side to their paddles (not oars), the captain (?) in a canopied box at
the stern, just behind the standing steersman.
Minicos
Tera
The arrival; small boats go ashore; local inhabitants rush up the hillside to watch.
Minicos
Tera
the port of arrival. Onlookers line turrets, roof-tops, the quayside. The buildings
are shown very much as in Minoan or Mycenaean fresco; but we cannot be
sure what place is portrayed.
