the various concepts that exist in his subject. Thus, when the teacher makes use
of the conceptual maps in the classroom, it facilitates learning because it provides
the students with a means that allows them to establish a relationship between
the concepts and the contents presented during the lesson. In the current context,
there is a need to change the way of teaching Biology and the maps have been
presented as viable alternatives, replacing the old teaching practices. Using the
conceptual maps in the classroom, the teacher moves away from the teaching of
biology that image of such a discipline is difficult, to use various scientific
concepts. Through the analysis of the bibliographical material selected to support
the present academic production, it can be seen that the conceptual maps
structured from the David Ausubel Theory constitute an initiative that can
enhance the learning with respect to the discipline of Biology, In the middle
school, assuming that such tools allow students a greater understanding of the
contents covered in the classroom, thus providing meaningful learning.
