RESUMO
ABSTRACT
The humanization of the hospital environment has been widely approached today,
since there is a great concern on the part of health professionals, especially the
nursing team, to offer quality care, especially in regard to patients hospitalized in a
Therapy Unit Intensive. It is well known that family members, when well prepared,
are able to spend more time with their relatives and be involved in the recovery
process, which, in addition to benefiting them, reduces the feeling of helplessness.
However, it is necessary to understand their influence on the patient's recovery. This
is a bibliographic research with an exploratory method, seeking to gather knowledge
about the factors related to the companion in the Adult Intensive Care Unit, through a
survey of the scientific literature of the Virtual Health Library (BVS-BIREME) for
access to the electronic databases of LILACS (Latin American Literature in Health
Sciences) and BDENF (Databases in Nursing). It is understood to be important the
stay of the companion in the period of hospitalization with respect to the emotional
support that this can provide the patient. The companion can contribute not only
affectively but also in providing some care that they see for the benefit of the patient.
Thus, the companion of patients hospitalized in ICUs, has been an aspect, quite
discussed, constituting one of the basic points pointed as a factor of humanization of
these units, since it is proposed to soften the isolation imposed on the patients in this
environment. However, the problem of family separation remains due to rigid
administrative rules that make it difficult to meet the individual needs of these
patients and their families.
conotação conforme relato a seguir:
