6 PROCEDIMENTO
A escolha do local
a. Distância mínima exigida em legislação dos corpos hídricos e outras áreas sensíveis;
b. Sistema de isolamento tal que impeça o acesso de pessoas estranhas;
c. Identificação dos resíduos armazenados, seguindo as instruções da Resolução CONAMA nº 275/01;
d. Sinalização de segurança indicando os riscos do local;
e. Lista de telefones para emergência caso ocorram incidentes;
proteger a saúde pública e o meio ambiente. A área deve ser projetada com:
a. Sistema para retenção de sólidos;
b. Medidas que minimizem a ação dos ventos;
para o solo e águas subterrâneas;
d. Cobertura e ventilação;
e. Medidas para contenção de vazamentos acidentais;
f. Sistema de drenagem e captação de líquidos contaminados;
g. Sistema de tratamento para os efluentes drenados pelo sistema anterior;
quantidade e qualidade do material.
I. Classe I – Perigosos: resíduos com características que lhe conferem periculosidade;
II. Classe II A – Não inertes: resíduos do refeitório, banheiros e de varrição (resíduo úmido);
III. Classe II B – Inertes: resíduos recicláveis – papel, papelão, plástico, vidro e alumínio (resíduos secos);
IV.

6 PROCEDURE
The instructions contained in this document must be considered by the CONTRACTORS and their SUBCON-TRACTORS for
the planning and execution of the activities.
The packaging of the waste can be done in containers, drums or buckets. The choice of the location for the storage
and construction of the Waste Storage Plants must take into consideration the specifics related to isolation, sig-
naling, access, pollution control and safety measures, and must post-sweep:
a. Minimum distance required in legislation for water bodies and other sensitive areas;
b. Isolation system such that it prevents the access of strangers;
c. Identification of the stored residues, following the instructions of the CONAMA Resolution nº 275/01;
d. Safety signs indicating the risks of the site;
e. List of emergency telephone numbers in case of incidents;
f. Availability of physical copy of NBR 12.235 for consultation on waste incompatibility.
The norms also establish other minimum conditions necessary for the storage of waste in order to protect public
health and the environment. The area must be designed with:
a. System for solids retention;
b. Measures that minimize the action of the winds;
c. Waterproof floor of concrete or other material that prevents leaching and percolation of substances to the
soil and groundwater;
d. Covering and ventilation;
e. Accidental leaks containment measures;
f. Drainage system and capture of contaminated liquids;
g. Treatment system for the effluents drained by the previous system;
h. Covers for all packaging units, so that the containers always remain closed.
For Class I - Dangerous residues, it should be noted that the storage must be done in such a way as not to alter
the quantity and quality of the material.
Note: subcontractors must follow this procedure for the implementation of the waste storage sites in their respec-
tive concentration areas.
The packaging of waste must be defined by the company responsible for its generation and destination, and may
be in containers, drums or buckets. If the structure to be built at the Worksite or Substation is concerned, it must
have physical space to store the separated waste mini-mely in the following manner:
I. Class I - Dangerous: residues with characteristics that confer them dangerousness;
II. Class II A - Non inert: residues from the cafeteria, bathrooms and sweeping (wet residues);
III. Class II B - Inert: recyclable residues - paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and aluminum (dry residues);
IV. Commercial value residues: destined to the storage of plastics, scrap, wood and others that can be com-
mercialized.
The dimensions of the plant must obey the criteria mentioned above, observing the necessary area for truck
maneuvering and considering the fence of the whole place to avoid the entrance of spoiled people.
In addition, the bay destined for hazardous waste conditioning must have a drainage channel connected to a
Storage Box or Water/Oil Separator Box, depending on the local characteristics.

6.4 REGISTERS
The Plans must be reviewed annually, or when there are changes in suppliers, treatment and/or final disposal of
materials, as well as when it is necessary to update environmental licenses that reach their expiration date.
All CGNBE enterprises must have annexed to their SWMP a summary sheet with the description of all wastes
generated, which are the contracted companies responsible for their transportation and final disposal, together
with their respective environmental licensing, and also information regarding the treatment and type of final dis-
posal adopted. The model to be followed is in ANNEX 1 of this Instruction.
The three parties: Generator, Collector, and Final Destinator of waste, must be registered in SINIR in order to issue
the Transport Manifests and Final Destination Certificates.
All chemical waste or waste contaminated with hazardous products must be disposed of with their respective
FDSR, in order to comply with ABNT NBR 16725:2014. It is the generator's responsibility to prepare a control
spreadsheet with all the material to be disposed, and submit the appropriate FISPQs of the chemicals used in the
activities that caused the waste generation, so that CGNBE's environmental team can prepare the FDSR.
For the disposal of chemicals in their original packaging, it is enough to send the FISPQs, not being necessary to
prepare the FDSR.
The companies responsible for the storage of waste at the Central must have a foreman to periodically inspect
the area, checking possible points of deterioration of containers and leaks caused by corrosion or other factors.
The person in charge or any person who handles the waste must be with their Individual Protection Equipment -
IPEs.
