Definição

“A teologia bíblica é a disciplina que

estrutura a mensagem dos livros da
Bíblia em seu ambiente formativo e
histórico. [..] A tarefe da teologia
bíblica é expor a teologia encontrada
na Bíblia em seu contexto histórico,
com seus principais termos, categorias
e formas de pensamento” Ladd.
 Teologia Bíblica
Definição
“Ela logicamente precede a sistem ática
e é a ponte entre a exegese e a
sistemática. A tarefa de um teólogo
bíblico é localizar e traçar os principais
temas teológicos de dadas porções da
Bíblia. Ele deve trabalhar através do
texto bíblico, indutiva e
progressivamente descobrindo sua
verdade teológica. No processo, ele
pode ou não discernir padrões e
paradigmas, mas deve esforçar-se para
extrair princípios que provejam os
dados brutos para a síntese” (MERRILL,
1991, p. 1-3).

A exegese lida com porções do texto bíblico, ora de maneira

sequencial, parágrafo após parágrafo, ora de maneira
isolada, estudando apenas uma porção ou um verso bíblico.
Após a análise da exegese, existe a necessidade de se
organizar seus resultados e é nesse ponto do processo que a
Teologia Bíblica entra em cena, organizando os assuntos
encontrados nas porções, seja de maneira descritiva,
temática ou sistemática.
 Exegese T. Bíblica

Ela visa demonstrar como cada texto contribui individualmente

para a compreensão total da mensagem teológica pretendida
por um autor em um livro bíblico ou parágrafo, bem como
apresentar o estudo detalhado de um tema teológico presente
nas Escrituras e seu progresso dentro de toda a revelação ou
em algum dos testamentos.
 Exegese T. Bíblica

A Teologia Bíblica, diferente da exegese, lida com todo o

material do autor bíblico, procurando encaixar os seus escritos
de maneira que seja possível compreender todo pensamento
do autor em um determinado assunto. Para isso, é necessário
que, antes da organização do pensamento do autor bíblico,
haja uma compreensão correta do significado pretendido de
cada texto por meio do processo exegético-hermenêutico.
 Exegese T. Bíblica

Em resumo, a relação da Exegese e da Teologia Bíblica é espiral, uma vez

que a exegese conduz e possibilita a Teologia Bíblica e a Teologia Bíblica
ilumina o texto bíblico para o exegeta, oferecendo-lhe referências e
pressupostos essenciais para lidar com o texto bíblico dentro do cânon e
corpus de um determinado autor. Quanto mais o teólogo bíblico for capaz
de trabalhar exegeticamente, melhor será o fruto da sua exegese e,
consequentemente, da sua Teologia Bíblica. Quanto mais o exegeta for
capaz de lidar com a sintetização e organização da mensagem teológica,
melhor será o fruto da Teologia Bíblica, e consequentemente da sua
exegese.

igreja disse em suas formulações
dogmáticas através de seu
desenvolvimento orgânico”, isto
é, “o desenvolvimento de
dogmas da igreja em relação ao
seu ambiente” (2005:293). ”

Nos possibilita: (1) ver como
foram interpretadas passagens
ao longo da história da igreja;
(2) entender como uma doutrina
se desenvolveu através dos
períodos da igreja; e (3) trçar as
origens e a estrutura da crença
que sustentam nossa própria
tradição confessional. ”

Sua Relevância
A teologia histórica oferece uma
revisão importante sobre
tendências que induzem a leitura
de ideias posteriores no período
bíblico (ver a discussão sobre
“política da decisão teológica” (os
confessores). O intérprete deve
estar sempre atento à falácia de
encontrar no texto assuntos
teológicos posteriores.

Ela permite aos teólogos ver o

quadro maior (o
desenvolvimento histórico do
dogma), em que tanto a
compreensão do texto quanto a
posição da comunidade podem
ser apresentadas. Ex.: o
desenvolvimento da teologia do
Domingo como o dia do Senhor.

A exegese como já visto, lida com a
interpretação e compreensão da
mensagem do texto contida na
intenção do autor com o propósito de
explicar o significado do texto, por
outro lado, o papel da Teologia
Bíblica é tanto apresentar a coerência
das partes individuais, demonstrando
a unidade das Escrituras, como a
teologia que emana do texto, seja em
resposta a um problema
circunstancial ou em uma declaração
teológica proposicional realizada pelo
autor bíblico.
 Teologia Sistemática

A Teologia Sistemática, por sua

vez, lida com organização final
do material bíblico,
respondendo, basicamente, as
perguntas: o que é necessário
crer por ser um cristão? Que
diferença isso faz?
 Teologia Sistemática
“Sistemática pergunta: Onde isso
tudo leva? O que isso significa?
Essas são questões de aplicação,
porque estão buscando
determinar o que devemos
acreditar hoje com base nesses
materiais bíblicos e, é claro, como
devemos nos comportar com base
em nosso estudo da Palavra de
Deus. Assim, sistemática, como as
outras, é teologia: a aplicação da
Palavra de Deus a todas as áreas
da vida.” John Frame
 Teologia Sistemática
Enquanto a teologia bíblica é
descritiva, localizando as ênfases
individuais dos escritores
sagrados e reunindo-as depois
em temas arquetípicos que
unificam os Testamentos. A
teologia dogmática coleta o
material gerado pela teologia
bíblica e o reescreve ou
reconfigura em um padrão lógico
atual, integrando esses aspectos
em uma declaração confessional
para a igreja de hoje.
 Teologia Sistemática
“Os intérpretes sistemáticos entendem
que o material com o qual trabalham
deve ser extraído pelos exegetas e
teólogos bíblicos, e os teólogos
bíblicos sabem que o trabalho não está
completo se eles meramente
localizarem e delinearem os principais
temas teológicos de determinadas
porções da bíblia. Esses temas devem
ser integrados e entretecidos de tal
modo a produzir um arranjo
autoconsciente, harmonioso e
equilibrado da revelação divina. Esta
tarefa, admitem eles, é do teólogo
sistemático. Zuck e Merrill.
 Por fim, a teologia sis-
temática é o passo inter-
mediário que liga “o que
significou” (a tarefa da ex-
egese e da teologia
bíblica), “o que significa”
(a tarefa de teologia sis-
temática) e “como se
aplica” (a tarefa da teolo-
gia homilética)

P. J. H. Adams afirma que a

“teologia bíblica requer um
pregador”, pois a finalida­de da
disciplina é expor aquilo que
“Deus disse” e consentiu revelar à
humanidade (2000:104-105).
 Teologia Homilética

Deus, portanto, é a causa pela

qual essas verdades reveladas
foram re­gistradas ou
“escrituradas” em textos
sagrados. E, através destes textos,
o próprio Deus pediu a seu povo
que proclamasse para a igreja e
para o mundo as verdades
teológicas reveladas.

Todos os estudiosos reconhecem

que a teologia bíblica se deve
aventurar não apenas na
descrição do pensamento
passado dos autores canônicos,
mas também na demonstração da
relevância dessas ideias para o
contexto atual. Se a teologia
bíblica possui um componente
prescritivo, ela então deve
proclamá-lo.
