ABSTRACT
The concern with the human capital of organizations has been allowing, for decades,
that human motivation and organizational behavior are the object of research, since
these are considered relevant for an organizational performance based on results,
which also require motivated employees. The Brazilian public service, throughout its
evolution, has followed this process, but faces a problematic reality for the
motivation. This research aimed to analyze the level of motivation of the employees
of the Municipal Health Foundation (FMS) of the city of Teresina / PI and its influence
on the performance of the activities, identifying the organizational factors that provide
satisfaction or dissatisfaction. The research is quantitative and exploratory. Data was
collected from 121 of the 227 servers. Literature research was based on the works of
Maslow, Herzberg, Alderfer, McClelland and Vroom. 61% of servers do not feel
accomplished in the work environment. Most servants are not motivated to seek high
performance. From the intrinsic or motivational factors, the autonomy in the work
performed was pointed out as causing greater satisfaction and the salary received,
which causes greater dissatisfaction.
