A IMPORTÂNCIA DA LÍNGUA INGLESA NAS ESCOLAS

A Língua Inglesa é o idioma nativo mais falado do mundo, por mais de meio
bilhão de pessoas originárias tanto do centro quanto da periferia. É o único idioma
que possui mais falantes não-nativos que nativos. A Língua Inglesa é responsável
pela grande maioria das informações dispersas acerca dos fatos que acontecem em
todo o planeta, demonstra a compreensão das possibilidades de visão de mundo e
de diferentes culturas, além de permitir o acesso à informação e a comunicação
internacional, para o desenvolvimento do aluno na escola e fora dela.
Segundo Almeida Filho (2009), vivemos numa época na qual o contato entre
línguas e culturas nunca foi tão intenso e generalizado. O valor de transitarmos por
outro idioma não precisa de muita defesa e já não se discute mais a ampliação de
espaço de cultura em nós quando outras línguas também nos constroem. Ou seja,
vivemos numa era globalizada, em que nós temos muito contato (por meio da
tecnologia), com outras culturas e pessoas de outros países, e assim é possível
“transitarmos” em outro idioma, e até aprendê-lo.
É muito importante que os alunos e a sociedade em geral, possam ampliar a
comunicação em um tempo de globalização e interação social constante e imediata.
Neste sentido o desenvolvimento da aprendizagem do Inglês passa a ser visto como
meio de aumentar as perspectivas culturais e profissionais do aluno. E por meio
disto é importante proporcionar aos alunos uma competência comunicativa que
permita os mesmos a se desenvolver no ambiente social e cultural. Tudo isso
implica ao professor ter noções e funções linguísticas, no uso apropriado das
expressões, nas diversas situações comunicativas dentro da sala de aula.
Estudar dois idiomas ao mesmo tempo, possibilita que o aluno seja capaz de
organizar e sistematizar as estruturas linguísticas de ambas as línguas e fazer uso
delas com excelente propósito comunicativo, mesmo que as línguas possuam
estruturas linguísticas distintas, como é o caso do inglês e português. Ser falante
desse idioma, além de abrir portas, é uma forma de se manter conectado e
informado com o mundo.
Por tanto, é necessário que os professores busquem se especializar na área,
e que a escola invista em métodos adequados que possibilitem a aprendizagem no
inglês. Que os alunos se esforcem mais nos estudos, e procurem fazer cursos de
idiomas. Ter domínio de um idioma ajuda a entrar no mercado profissional, e facilita
o aprendizado de várias outras línguas.
 THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN SCHOOLS
The English language is the most spoken native language in the world, by
more than half a billion people from both the center and the periphery. It is the only
language that has more non-native speakers than native speakers. The English
language is responsible for the vast majority of dispersed information about the facts
that happen all over the planet, demonstrates the understanding of the possibilities of
worldview and different cultures, in addition to allowing access to information and
international communication, for the development of the student at school and
outside it.
According to Almeida Filho (2009), we live in a time when contact between
languages and cultures has never been so intense and widespread. The value of
transiting through another language does not need much defense and the expansion
of the space of culture in us is no longer discussed when other languages also build
us. In other words, we live in a globalized era, in which we have a lot of contact
(through technology) with other cultures and people from other countries, and so it is
possible to “transit” in another language, and even learn it.
It is very important that students and society in general can expand
communication in a time of globalization and constant and immediate social
interaction. In this sense, the development of English learning is seen as a means of
increasing the student's cultural and professional perspectives. And through this it is
important to provide students with a communicative competence that allows them to
develop in the social and cultural environment. All this implies that the teacher has
notions and linguistic functions, in the appropriate use of expressions, in the different
communicative situations within the classroom.
Studying two languages at the same time allows the student to be able to
organize and systematize the linguistic structures of both languages and make use of
them with an excellent communicative purpose, even if the languages have different
linguistic structures, as is the case of English and Portuguese. . Being a speaker of
this language, in addition to opening doors, is a way to stay connected and informed
with the world.
Therefore, it is necessary that teachers seek to specialize in the area, and that
the school invests in appropriate methods that enable learning in English. That
students put more effort into their studies, and try to take language courses. Having
mastery of a language helps to enter the professional market, and facilitates the
learning of several other languages.
