Parents and teachers are considered privileged observers of children’s behaviors, however, is common to have distinct views of the same, thus the present study aimed to compare the evaluation of fathers and teachers about the issue of children’s behavior problems in pre-school age attended 40 fathers of pre-school children and their teachers (13). To evaluate children’s behaviors, was used the Strenghths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ), which was answered by fathers and teachers. To compare the evaluations was done the t test and chi- square test. About the results that showed statistically significant differences, it was noticed that on the scale of emotional symptoms, the item often complains about headache, nausea, stomachache, teachers reported a higher frequency, while the items often seem sad, discouraged or tearful, get nervous when it will do something for the first time, has many fears and in the total of this scale the fathers reported higher frequency than the teachers. On the scale of conduct problems, only one item (often has bouts of rage or crises of stubbornness) had significant difference, and the fathers have reported more frequency of these behaviors in children. The items of the hyperactivity scale that showed statistically significant differences were: it cannot stop sitting when it has to do the lesson or eat, stirs very, bumping in things, dropping things; it is always agitated, swinging the legs or moving the hands; easily loses the concentration and in the total score of the scale the fathers also evaluated the children with a higher frequency in the behavior. On the scale of relationship with colleagues, the items with a statistically significant difference also had higher averages in the evaluation made by the fathers, and the items do not have at least one good friend; other children bother and have better relationship with adults than other children. On the pro social behavior scale, all the items, as well as the total score of the scale and the total score of difficulties had statistically significant differences and the average of the evaluation made by fathers was greater.

In general, it was noticed that as far as the behavior problems and in the children`s capacities, fathers reported greater frequency of these behaviors in their children. It is believed that the results emphasize the importance of having several informants in different contexts in the evaluation of children's behaviors to ensure a greater vision about the same, moreover the results can also guide works with fathers and teachers.
