Activation vs Anxiety
Ativação Activation
Nível de excitação do sistema nervoso central (SNC). Varia entre níveis extremamente baixos (e.g., sono) e
extremamente elevados (e.g., atividade física intensa)
Level of central nervous system (CNS) arousal. Ranges from extremely low levels (e.g., sleep) to extremely high levels (e.g., intense physical activity)
?
Ansiedade Anxiety
Associada a
níveis de ativação elevados.
Emotional impact by experiencing situations of difficulty, anguish or uncertainty. Associated with high levels of activation.
(McMorris, 2004))

i) Indivíduo Individual
(Godinho et al., 2000; Magill, 2012; Shmidt & Wrisberg, 2001; Shumway-cook et al., 2011)
People differ in their normal level of activation - it is reflected in how they perceive anxious situations.
• An individual with high levels of activation has an easier time increasing his or her activation levels than a person with
lower levels of activation.
(Godinho et al., 2000; Magill, 2012; Shmidt & Wrisberg, 2001; Shumway-cook et al., 2011)

irrelevantes e prestar atenção aos relevantes;
realizar;

[EN]
The student or athlete has the ability to select a pertinent stimulus from his or her
environment. The coach or teacher must teach the student or athlete to ignore the irrelevant
stimuli and pay attention to the relevant ones;
Sometimes students do not know which stimuli are relevant. The teacher/coach should guide
the student, indicating which are the most relevant stimuli in the different tasks to be
performed;
The teacher should give the student extensive practice in concentrating on the relevant
stimuli, so that distraction decreases as the relevant stimuli are reinforced in the student;
