Ad Clerum da Santa Igreja Celta no Brasil

Como Bispo Presidente da Santa Igreja Celta, gostaria de salientar para o nosso clero que o
critério para afirmação de que nossa igreja para ser Celta repousa sob dois sólidos
fundamentos: Primeiramente é minha dupla nacionalidade britânica e Irlandesa, meu
Mestrado em Teologia pela Universidade de Edimburgo, Escócia. E minha qualificada
experiência no campo da Teologia e espiritualidade Céltica.

Segundamente, nós temos, entre outros, várias e especiais linhas célticas de Sucessão
Apostólica e também várias linhas oriundas de + Jean Pierre Danyel ( St Tugdual II), o
fundador original da Santa Igreja Celta ocorrido a 60 anos atrás. Todos os nossos bispos na
Europa compartilham destas mesmas linhas de sucessão.

A afirmação, da assim intitulada, “Igreja Ortodoxa Católica Celta” para ser “Céltica” é,
contraditória e completamente sem fundamento. O único direito que Dom Bernardo Muricy
e seus apoiadores tiveram no sentido de levar o nome da Igreja Céltica, veio apenas através
de sua afiliação à nossa igreja, assim sendo, ele e seus apoiadores, não possuem a Sucessão
Céltica, nem as qualificações, nem a experiência da Celticidade, acima de tudo.

Há muitas outras também intituladas “Igrejas Célticas” pelo mundo, particularmente na
América do Norte, da mesma forma que, em nossa opinião, não têm legimitidade.
Nosso clero no Brasil, pode se orgulhar pelo fato de serem membros de uma legítima igreja
Céltica e eu tenho grande esperança de que eles explorarão a História e a Teologia Céltica,
por si mesmos.

Enfim, claro, seria também maravilhoso se nossas linhas Célticas de Sucessão Apostólicas
pudessem ser transmitidas à nossa Irmandade Episcopal na América Latina. Dom João de
Ângelis (Vigário Apostólico para o Brasil), Dom Jorge Dias (Bispo Eleito) e todo o nosso
clero presente no Brasil que tem a minha absoluta confiança e meu apoio.

Que Deus vos conceda beber de Sua taça, que o Sol possa resplandecer sobre vós, que
quando a noite chegar, experimentem a paz e que quando vós entrardes no interior de Sua

 Ad Clerum on the Holy Celtic Church in Brazil

As Presiding Bishop of the Holy Celtic Church I wish to point out to our clergy that the
claim of our church to be Celtic rests on two solid foundation stones. First, there is my
British/Irish dual nationality, my upbringing in Ireland, my Master’s Degree in Divinity
from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and my expertise in Celtic theology and
spirituality. Secondly, we have, amongst others, several specifically Celtic lines of apostolic
succession and also several lines from +Jean Pierre Danyel (St Tugdual II), the original
founder of the Holy Celtic Church 60 years ago. All of our bishops in Europe share these
same lines of succession.

The claim of the so called “Igreja Ortodoxa Catolica Celta” to be “Celtic” is, conversely,
completely without foundation. The only claim that Dom Bernardo Muricy and his
supporters had to the Celtic name came through affiliation to our church, as he and they
have no Celtic succession and neither expertise nor first-hand experience of Celticity.

There are many other so called “Celtic churches” in the world, particularly in North
America, which likewise, in our opinion, have no legitimacy.

Our clergy in Brazil can be proud that they are members of a legitimate Celtic church and I
very much hope that they will explore Celtic history and theology for themselves.
Eventually, of course, it would also be wonderful if our Celtic lines of apostolic succession
could be passed on to our episcopal brethren in Latin America. Dom Joao De Angelis (Vicar
Apostolic for Brazil), Dom Jorge Dias (Bishop Elect) and all our clergy in Brazil have my
absolute confidence and full support.
