ABSTRACT: The present research aims to analyze the best therapy in the
treatment of diabetic gastroparesis. To this end, a Systematic Review of the
Literature will be carried out using the PICO question “In patients diagnosed
with diabetic gastroparesis, which treatment has the best prognosis with
fewer adverse reactions?”. The selection of articles will be carried out using
the descriptors (DeCS) “Gastroparesis” AND “Diabetic” AND “Treatment”,
which will be inserted in the Virtual Health Library (BVS) and Medical
Publisher (PUBMED) databases, using as eligibility criteria publications in the
last five years and only Randomized Clinical Trials, related to the proposed
topic. It is hoped that the current study will clarify the best treatment for
patients with diabetic gastroparesis. After reading the selected articles,
different therapies were identified, which at first proved to be beneficial in
improving the symptoms of DG, among them prucalopride, felcisetrag and
relamorelin. It was seen that there is still no totally specific medication for
the disease, being used drugs that favor an increase in the speed of gastric
emptying directly or indirectly, which manage to improve the symptoms,
therefore, more studies are needed in the area so that the pathophysiology
is correctly elucidated.
