01. Responda:
Parents Forcing their Children to do Chores In many households worldwide, children have to help
throughout the house, in other words, chores.
Chores should be forced by parents onto their children because it teaches responsibility, life lessons,
and will bond members of the household.
Jeremy Todd, chief executive of the national helpline Parentline Plus, said “Chores can also teach
children how to plan their own time, taking into consideration others’ needs, limits and responsibilities.”
I learned to do chores at an early age as a requirement. It taught me to manage my things properly
and be neat and clean because in the end, someone has to pick it up. If kids understand the feeling of
having to clean up after others, then maybe they will try not to do something that would invoke
someone else cleaning up.

Chores have an ability to bond a household and family together. In my family, I was not forced to do
chores but I chose to because I wanted to help out my parents. This invoked a sense of trust and love
between me and my parents. My parents understood that I loved them because I helped them
whenever I could and not because I had to.
