Abstract
Introduction: Aseptic necrosis of the head of the femur (NACF), or in English, Legg-Calvé-Perthes, is a pathology that occurs mainly in
young and small animals. Its etiology is not defined yet, but is believed to be influenced by hereditary factors. The clinical signs are
similar to those of other orthopedic diseases, so the imaging test is used to confirm the diagnosis. The most effective treatment consists
of surgical excision of the femoral head and neck followed by physical therapy. Case report: Was diagnosed a female dog of 9 months
with NACF, who underwent surgical excision of the head and femoral neck, and had as surgical post for its functional re-use the use of
condjuvant therapies, such as: magnetotherapy, ozonotherapy, laser therapy, moxibustion , infrared, thermal blanket and
kinesiotherapy. Conclusion: The surgical treatment associated with allopathic medications and physical therapy are of special
importance for an improvement in the pain of the animal and for good muscle recovery and amplitude of the affected limb.

A
paciente.
