Tension and conflict are recurring phenomena in group life. This article presents
theoretical contexts about the understanding of the role of man in society, his
performance and reactions in the groups to which he belongs, detailing the tension
and conflict in the dynamics of the group. The thoughts and studies of Kurt Lewin and
FelaMoscovici guide this work through several authors which have been accessed
through bibliographic research. The objective is to present influences of individual
attitudes that generate tension and conflict in the dynamics of the group besides
showing the behaviors of the individual when their satisfaction is not met in group
coexistence. The study concluded that individual attitudes in group dynamics could
mean forces that hinder or forces that drive the group and that understanding about
human nature is one of the ways to success of group formations.
