DESMAIOS NAS ESCOLAS FAINTING IN SCHOOLS
um cenário para todas justificações
possíveis
Desmaios frequentes e constantes dos alunos em
diversas escolas da nossa cidade e província de Maputo tem
vindo a fustigar os alunos, bem como seus encarregados de
educação, curiosamente, esse fenómeno vem se manifestando
no sexo feminino.
O sector da Saúde, bem como outras autoridades que
julgam entender do assunto, tem deixado justificações
possíveis, temos ouvido justificações de que a origem dos
desmaios é a anemia, emoção, o período, os médicos tradicion-
ais socorrem-se pela manifestação dos espíritos que foram
sepultados naquela zona, antes da construção da escola, refiro-
me concretamente da escola secundária Quisse Mavota, e as
outras escolas que se vem registando os desmaios em massa,
também são os espíritos? Os culpados são as autoridades que
construíram as escolas, e não observaram que estavam a
construir por cima ou em volta de um cemitério? Quem é o
culpado? nessa situação o único Inocente são os alunos.
Sabemos que estamos em África, mas muitos de nós,
falo de modo particular a juventude da minha geração, temos
conhecimentos sobre a existência dos espíritos ou fantasmas
pela exibição de filmes religiosos, de terror, bem como por via
da banda desenhada, acreditar em fantasmas ou espíritos é o
mesmo que questionar a alguém se já viu Deus alguma vez.
Verdade seja, para melhor prevenção dos alunos
destes males, ou qual seja, que vem causando os desmaios dos
mesmos, é importante o desenvolvimento e implementação de
acções sensibilizadoras em todas as escolas do País, sem excep-
ção alguma, e estas sensibilizações devem de caris da saúde em
todos aspectos, desde o desenvolver e crescimento do ser
humano, de modo particular as mulheres, que se chamem os
Ginecológicas, entre outros ligados a saúde básica.
Porque nós os Moçambicanos, devido as nossas
condições de vida, vamos ao hospital para ter uma consulta, só
quando estamos doentes, ficar doente para nós é uma grande
despesa, pouco se fala de um plano de saúde, mas sim, fala-se
de seguro de vida, e esse pacote é para os que podem.

A setting for all possible justifications
Frequent fainting and constants of students in
various schools of our city and Maputo province has been
harassing the students and their parents, curiously, this
phenomenon has manifested itself in females.
The health sector as well as other authorities who
believe understand the subject, has made possible justifications
we have heard evidence that the origin of the fainting is
emotion, time, traditional doctors rely upon to be the manifesta-
tion of spirits that were buried in that area before the construc-
tion of the school, I am referring specifically want me Mavota
high school and other schools being encountered in mass
fainting, are also the spirits? The culprits are the authorities

or around a cemetery? Who's to blame? the only innocent in this
situation are the students.
We know we are in Africa, but many of us, I speak
particularly of the youth of my generation, we have knowledge
about the existence of spirits or ghosts by the display of religious
movies, horror movies, as well as through the comics, believe in
ghosts or spirits is the same as questioning if someone has seen
God ever.
Truth is, for better prevention of the students of these
evils, or what, that is causing the fainting spells of the same, it is
important to the development and implementation of actions in
sensitizing all schools in the country, without exception, and
these sensitivities are of the curries health in all aspects, from
the development and growth of the human being, especially
women, who call the Gynecology, among others related to health
care.
Because we Mozambicans, because our living condi-
tions, go to the hospital to have a consultation, only when we are
sick, sick for us is a big expense, little is said of a health plan, but
rather speaks of life insurance, and this package is for those who
can.

volvimento da associação Visão Jovem Moçambicana, na

como na contribuição para o profissionalismo prático no seio
dos estudantes.

In the process of distribution and dissemination activi-

ties of the Mozambican Youth Vision Association, the Magazine

G-PRO and Vision Info on the Front Line

No reconhecimento e empenho do trabalho que está sendo

realizado pelo grupo GPRO, a Revista Electrónica Visão Info,
pertencente a associação Visão Jovem Moçambicana,
aproximou-se ao grupo no intuito de desenvolver acções por
via da revista e das actividades a serem realizadas pela
associação Visão Jovem Moçambicana, com vista a promoção
do último trabalho discográfico intitulado “Linha da frente”,
bem como os posteriores trabalhos a serem lançados por este
grupo musical.
Contudo, após uma reunião entre o presidente da
associação Visão Jovem Moçambicana, o Director Editorial
Adjunto da Revista, bem como os responsáveis pelo grupo
GPRO, as partes ficaram acordadas que vão trabalhar mutua-
mente, na promoção de produtos e actividades de ambos, em
todos os meios possíveis que as partes dispõem.

In recognition of the commitment and work being done by the

group GPRO, Revista Electrónica Info Vision, owned by Mozam-
bican Youth Vision Association, approached the group in order
to take action through the magazine and the activities to be
undertaken by the Association Vision Mozambican young, with
a view to promoting the latest album entitled "Frontline" and the
subsequent work to be released by this band.
However, after a meeting between the President of the
Mozambican Youth Vision Association, the Deputy Managing
Editor of the Journal, as well as the group responsible for GPRO,
the parties were agreed that they will work with each other, in the
promotion of products and activities , in all possible means that
the parties have.

UNIVERSITIES WILL STOP CHARGING IN U.S. DOLLARS
O governador do Banco de Moçambique,
Ernesto Gove, afirmou que o Ministério da Edu-
cação deve produzir, em breve, um aviso para
pôr fim à facturação em moeda estrangeira, uma
prática nas instituições de ensino, em particular
superior, e não só.
Ernesto Gove respondia a uma pergunta do jornalista
do “O País” sobre a violação sistemática da Lei 2/2006, que
estabelece a obrigatoriedade de pagamento por via da moeda
nacional, obrigando também as empresas a deixarem de
facturar em dólares ou noutra moeda estrangeira dentro do
país. “Do ponto de vista económico, não é adequado que
empresas cuja estrutura de custo não envolve moeda
estrangeira tenham de fazer a facturação nestas divisas”,
argumentou aquele responsável, alertando que “isso faz com
que a empresa perca competitividade relativamente às que
usam o metical”. O governador do Banco de Moçambique
defende que não há necessidade de se activar medidas coerci-
vas para forçar os prevaricadores a adoptarem a moeda
nacional, assumindo que é preciso “lembrá-los” da necessidade
da factuação em metical.
“Imagine, por exemplo, que uma universidade tenha
estudantes suazis ou sul-africanos. Se o preço for em moeda
nacional significa que, havendo depreciação, a nossa escola
fica mais competitiva”. Quer dizer, o estudante estrangeiro
paga propinas mais baratas em Moçambique, o que torna o
mercado das universidades mais competitivo.
Mesmo com a estabilidade da economia nacional, e, numa
altura em que a maioria dos quadros das instituições do ensino
superior e de outros sectores são moçambicanos, muitas
instituições comerciais nacionais, sobretudo universidades e
hotéis, continuam a ignorar a moeda oficial do país: o metical.
As universidades, com excepção da A Politécnica,
continuam a cobrar as taxas de propinas em dólares, podendo,
quem não os tem, recorrer à conversão do metical para aquela
moeda.

The governor of the Bank of Mozambique,
Ernesto Gove said that the Ministry of Education
must produce, in brief, a warning to stop the
turnover in foreign currency, a practice in educa-
tional institutions, particularly higher education,
and beyond.
Ernesto Gove responded to a question from a journalist
of "The Nation" about the systematic violation of the Law 2 /
2006, which establishes the obligation of payment by currency,
also forcing companies to stop charging in U.S. dollars or
another foreign currency in the country. "From an economic
standpoint, it is not appropriate for firms whose cost structure
does not involve foreign currency have to do the billing in those
currencies," he claimed responsibility, warning that "this makes
the company lose competitiveness compared to using the
Metical ". The governor of the Bank of Mozambique believes
that there is no need to enable enforcement action to force
offenders to adopt the national currency, assuming that it is
necessary to "remind" them of the necessity of factuação in
Metical.
"Imagine, for example, that a university has students
Swazi and South Africa. If the price is in local currency means
that there is depreciation, our school becomes more competitive.

DA VIRAGEM”

“Está a virar-se o quê, o que capotou? ...”

O Chefe do Estado moçambicano, Armando Emílio Guebuza, esclareceu que,

quando fala em “geração de viragem”, se refere a todos os cidadãos nacionais que se
encontram empenhados no combate à pobreza no país. Guebuza fez este pronuncia-
mento em resposta ao reitor da Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, padre Filipe Couto,
que disse não entender o que significa “geração da viragem”, no seu discurso durante
a cerimónia de graduação dos estudantes daquela instituição do ensino superior.
“Está a virar-se o quê, o que capotou? ...”, questionou o reitor e instou o Chefe do
Estado a explicar o sentido desta expressão.
Em face desta questão, Guebuza elucidou que a “geração da viragem”
engloba todos os cidadãos nacionais que, apesar das dificuldades do dia-a-dia,
buscam o seu melhor para combater a pobreza, que ainda enferma milhares de
moçambicanos.
“A missão que essas pessoas difundem é a mesma que foi ou está sendo

difundida até hoje e que está virada, fundamentalmente, para a resolução dos proble-
mas vitais do nosso país. O país era explorado e dominado por estrangeiros e a
geração 25 de Setembro virou a situação”, disse Guebuza para de seguida esclarecer
que o país deparou, ainda, com a crise de quadros e a geração 8 de Março entendeu
que tinha que resolver esse problema.
Para Armando Guebuza, o país está, neste momento, empenhado na luta
contra a pobreza e, “quando aparecem pessoas que estão dispostas a colaborar e
participar nesta luta, mesmo sabendo que há barreiras e dificuldades, é motivo de
exaltação, é momento de definição de uma missão para todos”.

The Chief of Mozambique, Armando Emilio Guebuza, clarified that when

CARMELITA NAMASHULUA
De nome completo Carmelita Rita Namashulua, nasceu em Dar-
Es-Salam, Tanzânia, a 2 de Dezembro de 1962, mas a família é
natural de Cabo Delgado.
Como é que isso aconteceu?
Carmelita Namashulua - Meu
Pai era professor, e os colonos naquela
altura, perseguiam muito pessoas que
tinham um pouco de visão. De tanto ser
perseguido, ele fugiu para Tanzânia,
vindo da Província de Cabo-Delgado.
Sou mais Conhecida por mana Rita,
porque sou a primeira filha do filho
varão da minha avô. A minha avo, tinha
treze filhos, dos quais 10 mulheres e só
três, homens. Destes três, quem foi o
primeiro a ter filho foi o meu Pai.
A escola?
CN - Estudei na Escola da
Frelimo em Tanzânia até 1974, altura em
que sai de Tanzânia para Maputo. Fiz a
minha 4ª classe na Escola Primaria a
Luta Continua, e o ensino secundário, na
escola da Frelimo em Ribaué. Vivia no
Internato, por isso, eu sei o que é sofrer
(risos...). Sai de Maputo em 1977, porque
meu Pai, queria que eu vivesse no
internato, para aprender... e aprendi
muito: a organizar-me, socializar-me...
Depois do ensino secundário,
formei-me em Matemática e Física, e fui
colocada para ser professora na escola
secundaria Josina Machel, tinha 20 anos
de idade. Neste percurso tive alunos
como o Esmeraldo Mondlane (Jornalista
da TVM), Gilberto Mendes (Director da

Companhia de Teatro GUNGU) e mais.
Em 1988, ingresso na Universi-
dade Pedagógica, para fazer o curso de
Psicologia. 1993 recebi o meu diploma,
mas mesmo antes de concluir o meu
curso, consegui integrar-me no Gabinete
da primeira dama do Ex-Presidente da
República (Joaquim Alberto Chissano).
A carreira profissional...
CN - Os projectos do gabinete
da primeira dama eram de apoio à
senhoras do campo, após a Guerra Civil,
e foi lá onde comecei a fazer esses trabal-
hos com a comunidade porque ver uma
pessoa que nada tinha, começar a
progredir, é muito gratificante!
Em 2000, por via de um
concurso no jornal, comecei a trabalhar
numa ONG Alemã, que financiava e
continua a financia ONGS nacionais, e
que desenvolvem os seus trabalhos na
área da Criança. Lembro-me de ter feito
os testes para esse trabalho, nos antigos
escritórios da KPMG.
De funcionária de uma ONG
para Vice-Ministra...
CN - Depois de quatro anos a
trabalhar nessa ONG, certo dia ligou-me
a Secretaria do Chefe do Estado e disse-
me: O Chefe do Estado quer falar
consigo.... e prontos, foi marcado para as
17 horas, e o Presidente Armando
Guebuza convidou-me para ser a Vice-
Ministra da administração Estatal.
...Puff!!!...
Apresentei algumas dificul-
dades, mas o chefe do Estado disse-me
que eu não iria trabalhar sozinha, teria
uma equipa para trabalhar comigo, e
aconselhou-me a assumir as responsabi-
lidades como Vice-ministra. Comecei a
trabalhar e realmente tive muito apoio...
esse ministério tem muito pouca gente,
poucos técnicos, mas são técnicos que
gostam daquilo que fazem, fazem com
afinco, e acima de tudo, com muita
responsabilidade porque é o ministério
que garante a organização deste
território nacional. Nós é que temos que
garantir que outros sectores do governo
tenham o seu espaço para
trabalhar....depois à Ministra!!!
Cinco anos depois, isso já agora
em 2010, o Chefe de Estado manteve-me
no ministério, mas como ministra.
Curiosidade
Sabias que o primeiro salário de
Carmelita Namashulua foi aos seus 20
anos? ...Eh! Foi quando começou a dar
aulas e usou o dinheiro foi comprar um
fato para o pai... Queres imaginar como
ele ficou?
Muito satisfeito e como prova
disso, vestia-o em momentos especiais!
O Namoro e o Casamento
CN - Ele conheceu-me na escola
da Frelimo, em Ribaué. Ele era
funcionário do comércio, e veio uma vez
a minha escola num dia em que eu
estava a jogar andebol. Viu-me de
calções e ficou atrapalhado...(risos).
Começou a rodar aquela zona, sempre
que fosse possível, ele saia de Nampula
para Ribaué, para ver a “menina pretend-
ida”, mas começamos a namorar cá em
Maputo. Namorei com ele às escondidas
durante muito tempo. Quando comecei a
trabalhar é que ele começou a frequentar
a minha casa. Primeiro foram os meus
irmãos que o conheceram e o último foi o
meu Pai. Em 1987 casei-me, tinha 24
anos, tenho dois filhos, um de 21 anos e
outro de 19 anos de idade,
Nós nunca tivemos muito,
somos todos produto do sofrimento,
tivemos uma conquista individual.
ENTREVISTA
A minha mãe sempre viveu em
Maputo, saiu de cá em 1990, quando viu
que todos os filhos dela já estavam
encaminhados, tendo decidido ir para
Cabo Delgado, onde esta a viver actual-
mente.
Vestuário...
CN - Eu visto aquilo que acho
que me fica bem!
Culinária...
CN - Gosto mais de peixe e
verdura! Não tenho muita gula, sou
vaidosa. O meu marido e os meus filhos
ajudam-me muito!
Rádio e TVs
CN - Gosto de ouvir a RM, no
meu gabinete trabalho ouvindo a RM.
Quanto a televisão assisto a TVM, STV,
CNN, RTP.

CN - Os Jovens devem procurar
o seu futuro, o sucesso não vem ao acaso,
não se devem contentar com aquilo que
tem hoje em casa dos pais, porque aquilo
é conquista dos Pais e não deles, os
Jovens não devem ter medo de ir aos
distritos, porque aqueles distritos irão
desenvolver se os jovens irem para lá e
desenvolve-los com ideias inovadoras,
usando os recursos que o governo
dispõe, e posteriormente multiplicar os
recursos. Com muita coragem, dedi-
cação, responsabilidade, e entrega

Carmelita Namashulua - My
father was a teacher, and the settlers at
that time, much persecuted people who
had a little vision. So much persecution,
he fled to Tanzania, coming from the
Province of Cabo Delgado. I'm more

CN - I studied at the School of
FRELIMO in Tanzania until 1974, when it
comes out of Tanzania to Mozambique. I
made my 4th grade primary school to
Fight Continues, and secondary educa-
tion in the school of Frelimo in Ribaué.
Lived in the internship, so I know what
suffering (Laughter. ..). Sai Maputo in
1977, because my Father wanted me to
live in boarding school, to learn ... and

After high school, I majored in
Mathematics and Physics, and was
placed to be a teacher in secondary

Gilberto Mendes (Director of Theatre
Company GUNGU) and more.
In 1988, entering the Pedagogi-
cal University, to do the course in
Psychology. 1993 I received my diploma,
but even before completing my course, I
could integrate myself in the Office of
First Lady Ex-President (Joaquim
Alberto Chissano).
The Career ...
CN - projects of the office of first
lady were in support of the ladies field,
after the Civil War, and it was there where
I started doing this work with the commu-
nity because they see a person who had
nothing to begin to make progress is very
gratifying !
In 2000, through a contest in the
newspaper, I began working on a
German NGO, which financed and
continues to fund national NGOs, and
developing their work in the area of the
Child. I remember doing tests for this
work in the old offices of KPMG.

CN - After four years working in
this ONG, called me one day to the
Registry of Head of State and told me:

I presented some difficulties,

very few people, few coaches, but they
are technicians who love what they do,

A INCAPACIDADE ESTÁ EM NÓS!
TODOS SOMOS CAPAZES!
Ricardina é uma mulher na casa dos 30 anos, residente
na Matola, jovem com deficiência física (cujo nome da sua
deficiência não me soube dizer). Devido à sua condição física,
adquirida na infância, deixou de estudar. Ao ler a carta que me
enviara, em Maio de 2009, fiquei emocionada e comovida com
as suas palavras e o seu questionamento: “Nós os deficientes
físicos, não nos ajudam a realizar os nossos sonhos porquê?”.
Ela pediu para participar no programa que eu apresento e edito,
“Palavras Soltas”, e assim aconteceu, poucas semanas depois
recebi a Ricardina.
Abdul é outro jovem que também vive com uma
deficiência física, que também fora adquirida na infância. Ele é
paraplégico, anda numa cadeira de rodas e, como a Ricardina,
teve a coragem e ousadia de pedir para participar no programa,
via e-mail, para falar da sua história de vida. Nesse ano, ele
frequentava o 1º ano do Curso de Ciências da Comunicação, na
vertente Jornalismo, continuando este ano no 2º ano.
E assim foi, a Ricardina, o Abdul e a Sra. Fárida
Gulamo foram os meus convidados no programa o ano
passado, e voltaram este ano, para uma retrospectiva em
comemoração a 1 ano de programa. Aqui focarei somente a
história dos dois jovens, visto que a Sra. Fárida Gulamo é já
uma mulher bem sucedida e resolvida com a deficiência física
que tem, prova disso é o magnífico trabalho que vem fazendo
há anos em prol das pessoas que vivem nesta situação.
Continuando, a Ricardina disse no primeiro programa
em que veio que o seu grande sonho era voltar a estudar, para
depois ter um emprego e ajudar os seus pais, com quem vive,
mas que não o conseguia realizar por falta de fundos para pagar
as propinas e custear o meio de transporte público, visto viver
um pouco longe do centro da cidade. Ouvindo isto, a Sra. Fárida
disponibilizou-se a ajudar de alguma forma, através da Asso-
ciação, ajuda que não foi consumada porque a Ricardina perdeu
o contacto da Sra. Fárida e não procurou tê-lo novamente.
Passado 1 ano e voltando ao programa, Ricardina
ainda não conseguiu realizar o seu sonho, pelas razões anterior-
mente mencionadas, e desta vez pondo também a sua idade
como um possível entrave. “Nunca é tarde para estudar”,
dissemo-la nós no programa.
Pelo testemunho e pelas palavras da Ricardina, a aceit-
ação da sua condição física é algo que conseguiu fazê-lo há
muito pouco tempo, e mostrou ainda ter a sua auto-estima
abalada.

Passando de novo para a história do Abdul, este jovem
surpreendeu-me ao mostrar que a auto-estima elevada e o
optimismo são a força motora para ele correr atrás dos seus
sonhos e conseguir realizá-los. Ele conseguiu uma bolsa de
estudos na Instituição onde frequenta graças à sua ousadia em
escrever e enviar uma carta de pedido de uma bolsa de estudos
à antiga Primeira-ministra. Diariamente, Abdul consegue levar
uma vida normal como qualquer pessoa, desempenhando as
actividades e tarefas domésticas, com algumas restrições, claro,
mas que, segundo ele, não atrapalham a sua vida diária. O
mesmo acontece com a Ricardina, uma mulher que até
comprou uma máquina de costura, com as poupanças que fez,
com a esperança de esta ser um instrumento para um possível
negócio, mesmo não conseguindo operá-la, por ter pedais
manuais (pela sua deficiência física, ela não consegue executar
alguns movimentos com os membros superiores e inferiores).
Dentre as maiores dificuldades e preocupações
ligadas às pessoas com deficiência física, estes jovens levanta-
ram a questão do não respeito dos transportadores públicos
por eles, da não existência de condições físicas que respeitem a
sua condição (falta de rampas nos estabelecimentos públicos,
casas de banho e estacionamento apropriados, etc.). Mesmo
assim, o que me chamou mais atenção e me fez escrever este
artigo foi a auto-confiança, a auto-estima e esperança que estes
dois jovens demonstraram, embora em graus diferentes,
mostrando assim que não é o facto de alguém viver com uma
deficiência física que o torna incapaz na sociedade. Incapaz de
viver, de estudar, de trabalhar e criar laços afectivos com outras
pessoas. De levar uma vida como um cidadão, um indivíduo
útil para a sociedade.
A incapacidade está em nós, está na maneira como
conduzimos a nossa vida e corremos atrás dos nossos sonhos.
A incapacidade está em não acreditarmos nas nossas capaci-
dades, habilidades e qualidades, naquilo que somos capazes de
fazer. E isto não se resume às pessoas que vivem com alguma
deficiência, mas a todos nós, ditos “normais”, mas que, na
realidade, talvez nos fazemos e nos tornamos no contrário, ao
julgarmos e colocarmos estas pessoas “especiais” num lugar
menor na sociedade, sem espaço para mostrarem o que valem!
Todos somos capazes, com auto-estima elevada,
optimismo e auto-confiança. Desanimar serve somente para os
fracos. KV
CRÓNICA
A DISABILITY ARE IN US!
ALL WE ARE ABLE!
Ricardina is a woman in her 30 years, residing in
Matola, a young physically disabled (the name of their disabil-
ity does not mean I know). Due to their physical condition,
acquired in childhood, left to study. When I read the letter sent
in May 2009, I was thrilled and touched by his words and his
questioning: "We the disabled, do not help us realize our dreams
why?". She asked to participate in the program and I present
edict, "Loose Words," and they did a few weeks later I received
Ricardina.
Abdul is another couple who also lives with a disability,
who had also been acquired in childhood. He is a paraplegic, he
walks in a wheelchair and, like Ricardina, had the courage and
audacity to ask to participate in the program, via email, to talk
about his life story. That year, he attended the 1st year of the
Course of Communication Sciences, Journalism in the shed,
ontinuing this year in 2nd year.
And so was the Ricardina the Abdul and Ms. Farida
Gulamo were my guests on the program last year and returned
this year for a retrospective celebrating the 1 year program.
Here I will focus only the story of two young men, since Mrs.
Farida Gulamo is already a successful woman and dealt with
the physical disability that has proof of this is the magnificent
work that has been doing for years in favor of people living in
this situation .
Continuing, Ricardina said the first program that came
his great dream was to go back to school, then having a job and
help their parents, with whom he lives, but they could not
perform due to lack of funds to pay school fees and fund the
public transportation means, as to live a little far from down-
town. Hearing this, Mrs. Farida available to help in some way,
through the Association, help that was not consummated
because Ricardina lost contact Mrs. Farida and did not seek to
have it again. Past one year and returning to the program, Ricar-
dina yet to realize his dream, for the reasons mentioned above,
and this time also putting your age as a possible obstacle. "It's
never too late to study," we have said it in the program.
The testimony and the words of Ricardina, the accept-
ance of his physical condition is something that has done so
very recently, and showed still have their self-esteem shattered.
Turning again to the story of Abdul, the young man
surprised me by showing that high self-esteem and optimism are
the driving force for him to chase their dreams and to realize
them. He got a scholarship at the institution where they attend

thanks to his boldness in writing and send a letter requesting a
scholarship to the former Prime Minister. Daily, Abdul can lead
a normal life like everyone else, play activities and household
chores, with some restrictions, of course, but he said do not
disturb your daily life. The same with Ricardina, a woman who
even bought a sewing machine, with the savings made, with the
hope of it being an instrument for a possible deal, even failing to
operate it, have pedals by hand (by his disability physically, she
can not perform some movements with arms and legs).
Among the major difficulties and concerns related to
persons with physical disabilities, these young people raised the
issue of non respect of public transport for them, there is not the
physical conditions that respect their condition (lack of ramps
in the public, bathrooms and appropriate parking, etc.).. Still,
what most caught my attention and made me write this article
was the self-confidence, self-esteem and hope that these two
young men have shown, albeit in different degrees, thus showing
that it is not the fact that someone living with a disability that
makes him incapable in society. Unable to live, study, work and
create emotional ties with others. To lead a life as a citizen, a
person useful to society.
The failure is in us, is on the way we conduct our lives
and we run after our dreams. The failure is in not believing in
our abilities, skills and qualities, what we can do. And this is not
just to people living with a disability, but all of us 'normal', but in
reality, perhaps we do and we become the contrary, to judge
people and put these "special" in a position lower in society, no
space to show what they are worth!
We are all capable, self-esteem, optimism and
self-confidence. Only serves to discourage the weak. KV

INVESTIMENTO PRIVADO DUPLICA EM

MOÇAMBIQUE

No que se refere ao Investimento Directo Estrangeiro

(IDE) regista-se um crescimento de mais de 200% em relação
ao ano passado, fixando-se nos 139.5 milhões de dólares. A lista
dos empreendimentos é liderada por Portugal.
O Centro de Promoção de Investimentos (CPI)
aprovou, no primeiro trimestre de 2010, investimentos
avaliados em 215.5 milhões de meticais, o que representa um
crescimento de cerca de 100% em relação aos projectos de
investimentos aprovados em igual período do ano passado. No
geral, as iniciativas são dominadas por interesses nos sectores
da agricultura e agro-indústria, que consomem mais de 130%
do valor global dos investimentos.
Os dados do CPI revelam ainda que, nos primeiros
três meses de 2010, foram aprovados 30 projectos de investi-
mentos, dos quais quatro fazem parte dos domínios dos
sectores de agricultura e agro-indústria. No período de imple-
mentação dos projectos, deverão ser criados 3 471 postos de
emprego. Refira-se que, em 2009, tinham sido aprovados 59
projectos de investimentos com capacidade para criar 3 274
empregos directos.

PRIVATE INVESTMENT IN MOZAMBIQUE

DOUBLED

With regard to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)

recorded a growth of over 200% compared to last year, standing
at 139.5 million dollars. The list of projects is led by Portugal.
The Investment Promotion Centre (IPC) approved the
first quarter of 2010, investments valued at 215.5 million Metic-
ais, which represents an increase of approximately 100%
compared to investment projects approved in the same period
last year. Overall, the initiatives are dominated by interests in
agriculture and agro-industry, which consumes more than 130%
of the total value of investments.
The CPI data also show that in the first three months of
2010, approved 30 investment projects, of which four are among
those areas of the sectors of agriculture and agro-industry.
During project implementation, should be created 3471 jobs and
employment. It should be noted that in 2009, had been approved
59 investment projects with the potential to create 3274 direct
jobs.

Vários estudantes desmaiam na Escola Se
cundária Quisse Mavota, em Maputo, numa
altura em que as autoridades de saúde estão a
desenvolver um trabalho de investigação para
apurar as reais causas deste fenómeno, assu-
mido como estranho naquele estabelecimento
de ensino secundário.
De acordo com a direcção da escola, paira um senti-
mento de medo no seio dos estudantes, uma vez não saberem
qual é a próxima vítima.
Com efeito, está instalada naquela unidade escolar
uma equipa de saúde, que inclui psicólogos, para o acompanha-
mento dos alunos.
Sobre a alegada subida do nível de abstenção, a
direcção da escola apontou que decorre um trabalho de levan-
tamento do nível das faltas. Contudo, refere-se, os alunos
continuam a afluir em massa à escola e, ao que se sabe, apenas
os que já foram alvo do desmaio é que continuam em conva-
lescência.
O director pedagógico adjunto para o segundo ciclo,
na Escola Secundária Armando Emílio Guebuza, Pedro Langa,
esclareceu, contrariamente às informações que indicavam a
existência de desmaios naquela escola, que não tem existido
casos de género.
Contudo, Langa disse que ao longo do presente ano
ocorreram cinco casos de desmaios, e explicou que os mesmos
estão relacionados com alunos que terão ingerido medicamen-
tos sem se alimentar adequadamente, o que resultou em
desmaios. “Já tivemos alguns casos de desmaios, mas são
situações normais e nada existe semelhante a Quisse Mavota”.
A Escola Secundária Quisse Mavota foi inaugurada a 5
de Junho de 2006, pelo presidente da República, Armando
Guebuza, e um cemitério familiar estava naquele local desde
1938, ano em que Quisse Mavota perdeu a vida.

Estas promessas foram expressas ao Vice-Ministro da
Juventude e Desportos, Carlos Sousa, que durante quatro dias
visitou os dois países do norte de África.
Assim, os argelinos e os moçambicanos terão os
softwares de organização e controlo dos jogos, para além do
sistema de acreditação dos participantes do certame.
Enquanto isso, os egípcios poderão transmitir a sua
experiência para que o evento de Maputo registe melhorias
significativas em relação aos nove anteriores eventos.
AFRICAN GAMES
ALGERIA AND EGYPT PROMISED TO SUPPORT MOZAMBIQUE
The sports authorities in Egypt and Algeria promise to
support Mozambique in the organization of the Tenth Edition of

CMCM irá acolher a gala de abertura do
festival
Maputo vai cantar ao mesmo tempo que será o cenário
da concretização do sonho dos organizadores da VI edição do
Festival Internacional de Música, a ser realizado de 28 de Maio
a 6 de Junho. Para agraciar os ouvidos mais críticos e apurados,
pela primeira vez, a cidade das Acácias trará a orquestra
(completa) sinfónica de Kwazulu-Natal, uma orquestra
composta por 70 músicos internacionalmente conhecidos, para
tocar algumas notas neste certame de música clássica e jazz
acústico.
O Conselho Municipal da cidade de Maputo, um dos
colaboradores do evento, irá acolher a gala de abertura do
festival que conta com a participação de músicos internacion-
ais e nacionais, nomeadamente, dos Estados Unidos de Amé-
rica, África do Sul, França, Portugal, Itália, Dinamarca, e
Moçambique.

HOLLYWOOD STRIKES MABJAIA
Quando fala de Hollywood, Mário Mabjaia não esconde a boa
impressão que ficou ao visitar a “capital” do cinema. “Visitei
Hollywood a convite da secretária de Estado norte-americana
e, tanto lá (EUA) como cá, declarei-me satisfeito e até impres-
sionado com o que vi em todos os locais visitados”.
Um dos rostos do filme Mahla, Mário Mabjaia,
continua a deixar a sua marca de actor surpreendente. Person-
agem atenta à situação cultural do país, olha com algum
interesse ao “boom” de rodagem de filmes de Hoolywood na
capital moçambicana.
Ao contrário das vozes contras em relação ao apareci-
mento “hollywoodesco” em Moçambique, Mabjaia olha para
isso com agrado como nos escreveu uma vez. Segundo o actor
de (lembram-se) “Curandeiro à Força”, essas rodagens são
“uma mais-valia em termos comerciais. O país ganha, os
actores ganham porque são pagos. É uma mais-valia em termos
de imagem do país.

CMCM will host the gala opening of the
festival
