ABSTRACT
This article presents a brief study on the importance of writing in school learning and
training of thinking citizens and agents of their own history. Whereas writing is
present in all situations of our daily lives, from childhood where the child has contact
with the written language. We made a rescue of the origin and evolution of writing the
history of mankind over the centuries and how it operates in the children's learning of
the writing process. The history of writing shows the evolution in which students are
to develop their own writing. It also leads us to understand the psychogenesis of
written language that allows us to understand how the child thinks the writing and its
assumptions in pre - syllabic, syllabic, syllabic -alphabetic and alphabetic well as the
path taken by the child in the acquisition of alphabetic writing. For children to take
ownership of that system, it needs to be offered in favorable mechanisms such as
learning activities appropriate to each level and pedagogical interventions that allow
phonological awareness.

humana. (GOODMAN,1995,p.15).
