5a
cola, e outros pedanalistas).

RESUMO
The author analyses the contribution of Freud's libido theory for the
elucidation of certain basic psychopathologic problems. After mentioning
the dissident ideas of Adler and Jung, he studies the contribution of the
neo-psychoanalysts with cultural orientation (Horney, Fromm, Kardiner,
Sullivan) referring their fundamental point of view: the predominance of
sociocultural factors and devaluation of the biological ones in the develop-
ment of normal and abnormal personality, especially on social-psychologic
and cultural-anthropologic principles. Considering these biological and socio-
cultural aspects as convergents and not as opposites the author concludes
that the instinctive level of the personality is very important, but not suf-
ficient to explain all the psychodynamic problems of the personality.
