Quando encontramos alguém caído e depois de verificar as condições de segurança, vamos

A PLS deve respeitar os seguintes princípios:

● Ser uma posição o mais “lateral” possível, e para que a cabeça fique numa posição em que se a
vítima necessitar de vomitar, o consiga fazer;
● Ser uma posição estável;
● Não causar pressão no tórax que impeça a respiração normal;
● Possibilitar a observação da respiração;
● Ser possível voltar a vítima em decúbito dorsal de forma fácil e rápida;
● Não causar nenhuma lesão à vítima;
● Não exista suspeita de algum traumatismo.
Importante
● Se a vítima tiver que permanecer em PLS por um longo período de tempo, recomenda-se que ao
fim de 30 minutos seja colocada sobre o lado oposto, para diminuir o risco de lesões sobre o
ombro;

● Mulheres grávidas devem ser sempre colocadas para o lado esquerdo, isto porque o útero faz
pressão posterior comprimindo a veia cava inferior e a aorta, comprometendo o retorno venoso,
com consequente hipotensão e mesmo quadros de choque

● Se a vítima deixar de respirar espontaneamente é necessário voltar a colocá-la em decúbito dorsal.

● A posição de recuperação usada nas crianças obedece aos mesmos princípios da PLS (posição
lateral de segurança) do adulto e pode ser usada a mesma técnica.

A Cadeia de Sobrevivência representa o conjunto de procedimentos que permitem salvar
vítimas de paragem cardiorrespiratória.
Os quatro elos da cadeia de sobrevivência são:

1. Acesso precoce ao Sistema Integrado de Emergência Médica – 112;


2. Início precoce de (SBV) Suporte Básico de Vida;
3. Desfibrilhação precoce;
4. Suporte Avançado de Vida (SAV) precoce.
O que é o SBV?
O suporte básico de vida (SBV) refere-se
às medidas de emergência fundamentais
destinadas a manter as funções vitais de
uma pessoa até que cuidados médicos mais
avançados possam ser fornecidos.
